Keeping your vehicle's tires inflated properly will improve the longevity of your tires and your vehcile's overall fuel economy. Check my slideshow for my step-by-step pictures. I hope this helps you keep your tires inflated properly.

Be courteous to other drivers. Basically I'm not saying let the line of 25 cars out of the parking lot but if you can make a space for someone trying to get in why not do it, if you were in there shoes or car wouldn't you want to be let in or whatever.

You should buy an air pressure gauge. Spend a few dollars and pick one up at your local auto parts store or in the automotive section of a department store. Most gas stations and all tire dealers have one that they might let you borrow.

The ideal air to fuel mixture in most vehicles is 14.7:1, and the oxygen sensor will try to maintain this optimal ratio. When the oxygen sensor is not working properly, symptoms such as rough running, overheating, and poor fuel economy may be present. Following are some tips to locate and troubleshoot the oxygen sensor.

Reverse the process to install the new hose and your done. Sounds simple doesn't it. Twenty years ago that was about all that was involved in the process. Not so much today.

number 1 auto parts If you didn't leave lights on the previous evening, look at the terminals on the battery. They should be clean and tight. If they are not, corroded, loose terminal connections may be your problem. You can clean them with a special terminal cleaning brush ($3 or $4 at an auto-parts store). Then reattach them. Do not put a baking soda and water solution on the terminals or on any other part of the battery.

Once the battery appears to be in good working order, go ahead and connect the charger or jumper cables. Make sure the charger is turned off or the jumping vehicle is not started at this point. To connect the cables, start with the red one and connect it to the positive terminal and the black to the negative. This will be the same setup for a charger or a jump. When the cables are in place, start the jumping car or turn on the charger. Do give the battery some time to charge up. If your battery has a charge indicator, make sure it is in the green zone before disconnecting.

salvaje auto parts This is a good time to fill your bottles or tanks and check for leaks. Spray a leak detector (available at hardware stores) or soapy water around the connections and regulator. If you see bubbles (or smell propane at anytime), you should have the system tested. Don't take chances with your propane system - it's not worth it!

The water pump is one of the best tools to alert you to a leak in your water system. Pressure up the system and listen for a few minutes. If the pump remains quiet and doesn't kick in and out, quite likely the system is ok. If it runs on and off, get your flashlight and check the lines and water accessories for leaks. The only two things I know of that will make the pump burp on and off is a water leak or a defective switch on the pump.
