(CBS News) "Arrested Development" fans, rejoice - filming for the show's new season has begun.

imageDeadline reports that production kicked off Tuesday for new episodes of the cult-favorite series about the dysfunctional Bluth family, set to air on Netflix next year.

The entire cast from the original series - Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Tambor, Portia de Rossi, David Cross, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat and Tony Hale - are in final negotiations and are expected to return, Deadline added. Ron Howard is reprising his role as the series' narrator.

On Tuesday, Bateman shared a photo on Twitter, writing, "First day. Away we go..."

"Arrested Development" was canceled in 2006 after three seasons. Last year, it was announced the show would return for a fourth season, which is expected to bridge the gap between previous installments and a long-rumored movie.

In April, Netflix announced it will release all 10 new "AD" episodes on a single day, sometime in 2013. Series creator Mitchell Hurwitz has also said he'd be open to doing additional seasons.
